Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, held a meeting this evening at the government headquarters in the New Administrative Capital with Ms. Liu Zhang, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Chinese New Hope Group and her accompanying delegation, in the presence of Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development, and Eng. Hassan Al-Khatib, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade.
The Prime Minister began the meeting by welcoming Ms. Liu Zhang and her accompanying delegation, stressing the depth of the comprehensive strategic partnership relations between Egypt and China, which were established by His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, and His Excellency President Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China, in December 2014, and which the two countries are celebrating its tenth anniversary, and thus this year 2024 can be considered the “Year of the Egyptian-Chinese Partnership”.

He explained that the company has branches in more than one country around the world, and that it started its activity in Egypt in 2011, and has 5 factories in Beni Suef, Sadat, Gamasa, Hosh Issa and Wadi El Natrun.
The Prime Minister stressed that the meeting aims to discuss the possibility of doubling the investments of the Chinese New Hope Group in the field of agricultural products, animal feed and poultry, especially since the agriculture and food security sectors represent a top priority for the Egyptian state.
Dr. Mostafa Madbouly pointed out that any move by the Chinese group to increase its investments in Egypt will receive all our support and will be granted the incentives decided in this regard.
For her part, Ms. Liu Zhang, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chinese New Hope Group, thanked the Prime Minister and the Ministers of Local Development, Investment and Foreign Trade for this meeting, which aims to review the possible investment opportunities for the company in the Egyptian market in the field of modern agriculture and food security.
Zhang thanked the Egyptian government for its continuous support for the company’s business since it started its activity in the Egyptian market in 2011.

During the meeting, Zhang expressed her admiration for the New Administrative Capital and the development experience witnessed by the Egyptian economy over the past years.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chinese New Hope Group reviewed the company’s capabilities on the global investment map, noting that the company owns 600 factories for the production of feed and related products, and that the company ranks first in China in the field of poultry farming and dairy production.
She stressed that the company was able to reach an important position during its presence in the Egyptian market, and has a real desire to transfer its expertise in the field of food product supply chains, especially since the company has an important experience in achieving food security in China that has developed over more than 40 years and seeks to transfer this experience to Egypt.
During the meeting, the Minister of Local Development reviewed the investment opportunities available to the Chinese group in a number of Egyptian governorates, as there are a large number of factories ready for investment by the group.
She explained that she would accompany the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chinese Group on a visit to the sites of these factories, noting that she had expressed a desire to invest in one of the factories in Damietta Governorate to use it in the fish packaging activity.
