Today afternoon, Dr. Badr Abdel Aati, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, received on Wednesday, December 4, Benedict Oramah, President of the African Export-Import Bank (AFREXIM Bank).
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration praised the strong partnership relations between Egypt and the African Export-Import Bank, and appreciated the role of the bank in promoting intra-African trade and activating the Continental Free Trade Agreement, stressing Egypt’s keenness to enhance cooperation with the African Export-Import Bank in this context, as well as the possibility of diversifying the existing frameworks of cooperation between Egypt and the bank in the coming period and paying greater attention to the issue of mobilizing funding to implement the continental development agenda 2063.
In this context, Minister Abdel Aati pointed out the priority that His Excellency the President of the Republic gives to accelerating the pace of implementation of the second ten-year plan of Agenda 2063 in light of his current chairmanship of the Steering Committee of Heads of State and Government of the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD), with the aim of achieving continental development goals, stressing the keenness of the President to activate the Continental Free Trade Area Agreement due to the centrality of this agreement in advancing development efforts on the African continent.
