The Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport and the Life Makers Foundation – Egypt organize a scientific conference to present the final results of the UniGreen project. During the period 27 and 28 November 2024 at the Ramses Hilton Hotel, in the presence of the Minister of Education, the Minister of Environment, the Minister of Social Solidarity, Major General Mohsen Al-Naamani, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Life Makers Foundation, Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghaffar, Dr. Alaa Abdel Bari, Dr. Hanan Gouda, representatives of Egyptian universities, and a representative from the European Union.
The project, funded by the European Union, aims to enhance the role of youth in reducing the effects of climate change in light of the Egyptian state’s interest in the environmental file and achieving the goals of sustainable development and Egypt’s Vision 2030 by relying on three axes:
1- Raising the capacities of faculty members and their assistants in the field of community education related to climate in (10) public universities, namely:
Alexandria University
Aswan University
Luxor University
Suez University
New Valley University
South Valley University
Damanhour University
Sadat City University
Matrouh University
Al-Azhar University
2- Supporting young entrepreneurs by providing technical and financial support to provide solutions and establish start-up companies to confront climate change.
3- Developing a policy paper for all partners to reach advanced solutions to confront climate change and reduce its negative effects.
