President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Monday9/10/2017 received a phone call from his Somali counterpart Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo who voiced his appreciation for the historical relations binding the two countries.
In the call, Farmajo lauded Egypt’s role in supporting Somalia to achieve stability.
He hoped for more cooperation between the two countries in various fields, hailing Egypt’s technical assistance to his country and its defense of the Somali interests at the regional and international arenas.
President Sisi, for his part, pointed to the deep relations binding Egypt and Somalia and asserted Cairo’s support to the unity and sovereignty of Somalia.
Egypt is keen on boosting cooperation with Somalia, he said.
Cairo will continue providing technical support for the Somali people and helping the African country build its state institutions and restore security and stability, he stressed.
