5,000 Years of Civilizational Dialogue.. South Korea and Egypt Celebrate 30 Years of Diplomatic Relations

On April 30, 2025, South Korea and Egypt will celebrate 30 years of diplomatic relations with a landmark cultural symposium at the American University in Cairo’s Oriental Hall, under the theme “5,000 Years of Civilizational Dialogue.”

Hosted by the South Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, in cooperation with KOFICE, the Federation of Artistic and Cultural Organizations of Korea, and the Korean Embassy in Egypt, the event will highlight shared history and deepen cultural ties.

The celebration will include:

A symposium on civilizational dialogue and cultural cooperation,

The launch of the Asia-Africa Artists’ Alliance (A3A),

A colorful evening performance titled “Colorful Korea in Cairo” at Ewart Memorial Hall.

The symposium will address topics such as the role of art in society, cultural education in the digital age, and future collaborations between the two countries.

Ambassador Kim Yonghyon emphasized the strong foundation of cooperation and the commitment to future alliances leveraging innovation and shared values.

Oh Sungho, Director of the Korean Cultural Center, noted the celebrations reflect three decades of friendship and aim to build a sustainable model for cultural exchange.

These events mark a significant milestone in strengthening South Korea–Egypt relations through art, culture, and mutual understanding.
