His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Crown Prince of the State of Kuwait, today received Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States (LAS), during an official visit that included a series of meetings and activities.
Jamal Rushdi, the Secretary-General’s official spokesperson, stated that the meeting addressed developments in the Arab region ahead of the upcoming Arab Summit scheduled to be held in Baghdad. He emphasized the historical and special ties between Kuwait and the Arab League, highlighting Kuwait’s positive role in supporting joint Arab action.
The meeting also discussed developments in the Palestinian cause amid the ongoing Israeli aggression against Gaza. Aboul Gheit stressed that international silence effectively grants Israel a license to continue its acts of killing and ethnic cleansing without accountability.
Aboul Gheit’s visit also included an important meeting with Kuwait’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya, during which they discussed ways to strengthen Arab cooperation and addressed various regional crises.
