Minister of PBS Receives Ambassador Tuy to Discuss Strengthening Economic and Investment Cooperation

Eng. Mohamed Shimi, Minister of the Public Business Sector (PBS received Ambassador Salih Mutlu Şen, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to the Arab Republic of Egypt, and his accompanying delegation at the Ministry’s headquarters in the Administrative Capital. This meeting aims to strengthen economic and trade relations between the two countries.

During the meeting, ways to enhance cooperation between the two sides in several areas of mutual interest were discussed, particularly in the fields of industry, investment, and exchange of expertise. The meeting also reviewed investment opportunities available in public business sector companies and explored partnership opportunities between the Ministry’s affiliated companies and Turkish companies in several sectors, including the spinning and weaving, fertilizer, paper, and hotel industries.

At the beginning of the meeting, Engineer Mohamed Shimi welcomed the Turkish Ambassador and the accompanying delegation, emphasizing the deep historical relations between Egypt and Turkey and the keenness to strengthen cooperation with the Turkish side to serve common interests and support economic development in both countries.

Engineer Mohamed Shemi pointed out the many promising investment opportunities available in various sectors and areas of work of the Ministry’s affiliated companies. He emphasized openness to cooperation and partnerships with the local and foreign private sector, welcoming more Turkish investments in the Egyptian market, and highlighting the facilities and incentives the state provides to investors.

For his part, the Turkish Ambassador expressed his country’s aspiration to expand cooperation with Egypt, praising the economic reforms in Egypt, the great potential of the Egyptian public business sector, the promising investment opportunities for cooperation in a number of fields, and the interest of Turkish companies in expanding their investments in Egypt.

It was also agreed to organize bilateral meetings between company representatives from both sides, as well as field visits for Turkish businessmen to a number of factories and companies affiliated with the Ministry, with the aim of exploring investment cooperation opportunities.
