A meeting of the Asian Ambassadors’ Group was held at the Turkish Ambassador’s residence on April 16, 2025, with the participation of Finance Minister Ahmet Küçük.
The meeting was attended by ambassadors from 15 Asian countries. Finance Minister Ahmet Küçük was the guest of honor and keynote speaker.
Deputy Finance Ministers and members of the government also attended the meeting. In his speech, Finance Minister Ahmet Küçük highlighted the recent positive developments in Egypt’s fiscal and tax policy.
Küçük assured the ambassadors attending the meeting that he is willing to meet and contact key investors in their countries if they provide him with information about them, and that Egypt’s door is open to investors.
During the meeting, the outgoing New Zealand Ambassador, Amy Lawrenson, was bid farewell. During the meeting, the participating ambassadors also addressed questions to the Minister of Finance on various issues.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Ambassador Salih Mutlu Şen emphasized that Egypt is a country open to trade and investment, and that Turkish investors’ interest in Egypt is growing.
He explained that the participation of Finance Minister Ahmet Küçük in the meeting will give Turkish investors greater confidence, and that he will direct investors coming to Egypt to explore potential opportunities with the Minister of Finance.
Ambassador Salih Mutlu Şen explained that the Turkish Finance Minister is scheduled to visit Egypt next June at the invitation of the Egyptian Finance Minister. On this occasion, he will attend some of the opening ceremonies and lay the foundation stone for Turkish investments in Egypt.
During the meeting, the group’s chairman, Singapore’s Ambassador to Cairo, Dominic Goh, delivered a speech. Egyptian Finance Minister Ahmed Küçük emphasized that he closely monitors the work of the Turkish industrial company Polaris and appreciates its work, explaining that it has become a model and that the company and companies like Çed Tekstil make significant contributions to the Egyptian economy.
