The Saudi Ministry of Defense hosted the 8th meeting of the Chiefs of Staff of the Dragon Group member states in Riyadh today. The meeting was attended by the Chiefs of Staff and representatives of the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Sultanate of Oman, the State of Qatar, the State of Kuwait, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Republic of Iraq, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, in addition to the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
The meeting, which was opened by His Excellency the Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Fayyadh bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili, discussed topics of common interest, including the fight against terrorism, developments in the Palestinian territories, the importance of delivering humanitarian aid, and efforts to de-escalate regional tensions.
The attendees emphasized the importance of ensuring the security and protection of maritime navigation, ensuring the safety and security of waterways, and strengthening efforts to combat smuggling and piracy.
