Dr. Badr Abdel Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, received Mr. François-Noël Beauvais, Minister of State at the Ministry of Interior (MSMI) , on Wednesday, April 9, on the sidelines of the Khartoum Process Ministerial Conference.
Minister Abdel Aty praised the important state visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Egypt, which reflected the strategic nature of relations between the two countries, especially after the upgrading of relations between the two countries, as well as the convergence of views on issues of common interest. He stressed the importance of building on the momentum generated by the visit to advance bilateral relations in various fields to broader horizons and to continue working closely to develop and deepen the strategic partnership between the two countries.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs congratulated the French official on his country’s assumption of the rotating presidency of the Khartoum Process, stressing his commitment to supporting the French presidency and building on the achievements made during the Egyptian presidency of the process.
His Excellency also emphasized his aspiration to continue strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the field of migration, explaining that creating legal migration routes and the legal movement of labor is one of the most important pillars of managing migration in Egypt, especially given Cairo’s priority in supporting legal migration routes and skill transfer between Egypt and European Union countries.
Minister Abdel Aty expressed appreciation for the ongoing European support for implementing projects related to migration issues in Egypt, expressing his hope that France would increase its support for Egypt in this regard, particularly given the increasing burdens borne by the Egyptian state due to hosting more than 10 million migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers.
