Today April 3, 2025, Counselor Dr. Hanafi Gebali, Speaker of the House of Representatives, met with Ms. Tanzila Narbayeva, Speaker of the Senate of the Republic of Uzbekistan, at the beginning of his participation in the 150th General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), held in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Counselor Dr. Hanafi Gebali began the meeting by congratulating the Speaker of the Uzbek Senate on the success of hosting and organizing the 150th session of the IPU. On the bilateral level, Counselor Dr. Speaker of the House of Representatives praised the positive momentum witnessed in bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, in light of the keenness of the leaderships of both countries to enhance cooperation and ongoing coordination to serve the interests of the two friendly peoples.
On the parliamentary level, Counselor Dr. Hanafi Gebali praised the bilateral Egyptian-Uzbek parliamentary relations, which are a prominent reflection of the close and distinguished historical relations. He expressed his aspiration to enhance the activities of the Parliamentary Friendship Association, as well as to exchange legislative expertise and coordinate before international and regional parliamentary forums.
For her part, Ms. Tanzila Nazbayeva, Speaker of the Uzbek Senate, expressed her pride in the high-level Egyptian parliamentary participation in the Inter-Parliamentary Union meetings hosted by Uzbekistan. She emphasized that Egypt is a sisterly and friendly country, and that the leadership of both countries has a serious and sincere will to strengthen these solid relations to broader horizons at all levels. She also emphasized the need to advance Egyptian-Uzbek parliamentary relations in a way that contributes to strengthening relations between the two friendly countries.
