Ambassador Askar Jinis presented his credentials to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi as Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Egypt, succeeding Ambassador Khairat Lama Sharif.
Ambassador Askar began his activities upon his arrival in Egypt several weeks ago, meeting with a number of Egyptian officials. He also met with a large number of journalists and media professionals, hosting an iftar banquet for them, and interacting with Arab and foreign ambassadors accredited to Egypt.
Ambassador Askar Jinis said: “I am no stranger to Egypt. I studied at Al-Azhar University and worked at our embassy in Cairo for twenty years. I consider Egypt my second home, as Kazakhstan and Egypt are linked by historical relations that stretch back centuries, dating back to the reign of Sultan Zahir Baybars. There are strong cultural ties between the two countries, as Egypt is a pivotal country in the region with a rich history. We share many commonalities, as the Mamluks who ruled Egypt came from Kazakhstan.”
Askar added, “My mission is to strengthen and promote relations between the two countries in all fields.”
