Attended by Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, the Supreme Council of Universities approved the decision of the Council of Cairo University to establish a branch in the Qatari capital, Doha, with all necessary legal measures taken in this regard. This branch aims to enhance academic cooperation between Egypt and Qatar, and expand educational opportunities for students in the Arabian Gulf region.
This branch is expected to contribute to supporting cultural and educational exchange, and provide Qatari students and residents in Qatar with the opportunity to obtain a university education from Cairo University without the need to travel to Egypt.
The decision comes within the framework of the Egyptian orientations to expand the network of branches of Egyptian universities in the countries of the region, which enhances the position of Egyptian higher education in the Arab world.
The branch of Cairo University in Qatar is also expected to contribute to strengthening academic relations between the two countries, and help develop education and technology in the region.
