The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Cairo celebrated the 46th anniversary on February 8th in the presence of the Egyptian Foreign Ministry official, Ambassador Ahmed Shahin, Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs, diplomats including the Turkish Ambassador Mr. Saleh Mutlu Shen, the Sultanate of Oman Ambassador Mr. Abdullah Al-Rahbi, the Russian Ambassador Mr. Georgy Borisenko, politicians including Mr. Amr Moussa, former Egyptian Foreign Minister and Secretary-General of the Arab League, former Assistant Foreign Minister Mr. Abdullah Ashal, media professionals and others. Ambassador Mohammad Hussein Soltani Fard held the celebration at his residence in Heliopolis, who delivered a speech on this occasion, which was as follows:

Allah the Wise said in His clear book: (O you who believe, if you support May Allah grant you victory and make your feet firm (Surah Muhammad, verse 7) Allah the Almighty has spoken the truth.
My best regards and wishes to the distinguished attendees and a special greeting to His Excellency Ambassador Ahmed Shahin, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt for Asian Affairs, His Excellency Dr. Amr Moussa, former Minister of Foreign Affairs, the distinguished officials of the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the respected ambassadors, and the honorable political and social figures. I would like to express my deep gratitude to the media professionals and university professors present, the Iranians residing in the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the distinguished audience who honored me with their presence, accepting our invitation and honoring us by attending the ceremony of the forty-sixth anniversary of the National Day of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
First of all, I would like to congratulate the honorable ambassadors and all Christian brothers around the world on the New Year 2025 and the birth of the Prophet Jesus, the second divine messenger to the world, and express my hope that peace and stability will prevail in the region and the world, hoping that the new year will witness the establishment of peace, calm and security and the end of ongoing crises and wars.
As we celebrate the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, in which the Iranian nation was able to overthrow the dependent Shah regime and gain independence and freedom in (1978), we find that Iran today has achieved countless achievements in various scientific, technological, space and military fields, as Iran today ranks fourth in the world in the field of nanotechnology, and three satellites have been launched into Earth’s orbit using domestically manufactured launch vehicles.
There are 2183 universities in Iran in all disciplines including medicine, engineering, technology and humanities, 85 of which are classified according to the Times Higher Education rankings, and currently 3.2 million students are studying in them, and Iran ranks 15th in the world with 78 thousand annual products.
It is worth noting that these developments have been achieved under the harsh and oppressive sanctions on the Iranian state, which has been facing these sanctions for 45 years. However, these restrictions have not been able to hinder the progress of the Islamic Republic of Iran. On the contrary, the sanctions have caused the Iranian nation, especially the young generation, to rely on itself, its independence and its capabilities. We believe that today we can say “we can”.
We should not forget the role of Iranian women in achieving these successes. After the Iranian Islamic Revolution, Iranian women have enjoyed many rights and capabilities. They constitute the highest percentage in education, whether in terms of teaching or studying, as the percentage of female university students exceeds 60 percent of university students. They also hold various positions in health centers a lot. They have an effective presence in all state institutions, and women and men are equal before the law constitutionally according to Islamic teachings.
Iranian women also contribute to political life with a vital and effective role. They hold high and sensitive positions in the state, such as the position of Vice President of the Republic for Legal Affairs, Vice President for Women and Family Affairs, Vice President and Head of the Environmental Protection Foundation, Minister of Health, Vice President for Science and Technology Affairs, and Mayor of a City.
The efforts and measures being made today in the Asian and African continents are actually aimed at restoring and reviving scientific prosperity and establishing the arts of new technologies and discoveries. The BRICS group, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and other groups were formed in order to create a new economic structure and coordination to create financial and monetary independence for Asian and African countries in the two large, rich continents. The recent signing of a comprehensive and strategic agreement between Iran and Russia is also one of the measures that will highlight the capabilities of regional countries.
There is no doubt that the secret to achieving this success requires cooperation and rapprochement between the countries of the region and the continent. Iran and Egypt have recently taken important steps in this regard, and at a time when many relations are being normalized between the countries of the region, we see that relations between Tehran and Cairo have taken a positive path. The recent meeting between the presidents of the two countries at the economic summit of the Group of Eight Developing Countries in Cairo was an important and effective meeting, and officials from both countries concluded that the capabilities of Iran and Egypt can contribute to the dynamism and growth of bilateral relations, as well as establishing peace and security and resolving crises.
It is time to end the provocation of wars and tensions, which the Zionist entity is the main cause of these crises in the Middle East and the Palestinian people, as a priority issue for the region and the Islamic world, who have been struggling for 77 years to achieve their legitimate rights and establish an independent Palestinian state and lift the occupation of Palestinian lands. We hereby congratulate the Palestinian people and the honorable resistance on the recent victory in the Gaza war within 15 months.
Since the beginning of the Gaza crisis until now, the Iranian Islamic Republic has supported the positions and efforts of the sisterly Egypt and Qatar to achieve a ceasefire and prevent genocide as well as the displacement of Palestinians from their lands, and continued to insist on implementing the referendum plan as a legitimate and democratic plan to avoid ethnic cleansing and the return of tension and war. There is no doubt that the continuation of Netanyahu’s crimes in the West Bank after all these crimes, killing and destruction in Gaza stems from the brutal nature of this regime, which even followers of the Jewish religion condemn. This regime exceeds all laws, decisions and norms that govern nations under occupation with American participation and support.
What happened recently in the Middle East cannot be the full story of the region, as achieving peace and stability in the region will not be achieved by removing the ugliness of concessions with the Zionist regime or by changing regimes.
We would like to emphasize that we support the unity of Syria and the integrity of its territories and the formation of a comprehensive government with the participation of all tribes and groups and preserving the rights of minorities.
In the end, there is no doubt that the fruits of the steadfastness of the Palestinian people, which has today become a model for the countries of the world, will not go in vain, and war criminals must be tried for all these crimes and bloodshed. In the hope of building a world of justice, equality, peace and peaceful coexistence, I once again greet all those present at this ceremony.
