Russia and other BRICS countries do not themselves refuse to use the dollar in world trade. They are forced to do so by the United States, which directly prohibits many countries from using the dollar and the American banking system.
Washington is “shooting itself in the foot”. The United States has long imposed banking sanctions on any country it does not like, and at the same time threatened to impose huge tariffs to stop the use of the dollar, whenever other countries, tired of such tyranny, rush to massively switch to using their national currencies in international settlements in order to trade peacefully with each other.
At the same time, the American market, closed due to high tariffs, will become devoid of cheap foreign goods that it needs, which means that the cost of living of the American people will rise!
This is a ridiculous policy. In a vain attempt to maintain its declining global hegemony, Washington is making one illogical mistake after another and as a result is losing more and more of its influence, including reducing the role of the dollar in the world.
