Amb. of Turkey Saleh Mutlu Shen participates Chairman and Members of EBA at the Egyptian Automobile Club

Ambassador Saleh Mutlu Shen met in response to the invitation extended to him with Ali Helmy Issa, Chairman of the Egyptian Businessmen Association (EBA) and members of the association at the historic Egyptian Automobile Club, and discussed the possibilities of developing investment and trade cooperation between Turkey and Egypt.

During the meeting, which was attended by Adel El-Lamei, Chairman of the Egyptian side of the Turkish-Egyptian Business Council, Hakan Atay, Commercial Counselor at the Embassy in Cairo, representatives of the Egyptian finance and construction sectors, and Osman Arıkan, General Manager of Polaris Parks, which is a Turkish-Egyptian partnership and is the developer of the first private industrial zone in Egypt and is also Egypt’s representative at the Turkish World Business Council, the activities that the Business Council intends to carry out in 2025 were evaluated.

Ambassador Shen confirmed during the meeting that the work of Turkish companies and Turkish investors operating in Egypt continues to progress in line with Egypt’s economic policy supporting small and medium enterprises and entrepreneurs.

Referring to the complementary nature of the Turkish and Egyptian economies, Ambassador Şen stated that the logistical advantages allow for the further development of relations. He drew attention to the potential for joint growth of the Turkish and Egyptian economies.

It is worth noting that the Turkish-Egyptian Business Council is scheduled to be held in 2025, with the participation of the two countries’ trade ministers in Turkey.

The meeting focused on the measures taken by the Egyptian authorities to improve the business environment, including the development of industrial zones in Egypt, the acceleration of customs procedures, and export incentives.

Ambassador Şen announced that in response to Adel El-Lamei’s invitation, he will head to Port Said Governorate to meet with the governor and thus obtain information on the infrastructure and economic developments in the region.

Ambassador Şen also noted that Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), and Ahmed El-Wakil, President of the General Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce (FEDCOC), also attended the meeting held by the D-8 Chambers of Commerce and Industry in mid-December.

He said that there are close relations between the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) and the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce (FEDCOC), explaining that he hopes to achieve new economic trade cooperation activities.
