The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s welcome to the adoption by the United Nations General Assembly of a resolution submitted by the Kingdom of Norway in partnership with the Kingdom and a number of countries, requesting an advisory opinion from the International Court of Justice on Israel’s obligations related to the activities of the United Nations and other countries in favor of the Palestinians in the occupied Palestinian territories.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that this resolution, which aims to support and assist the Palestinian people in light of what they are going through, clearly expresses the international consensus on the inherent right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state, and the Kingdom appreciates the positive position of the countries that voted in favor of the resolution.
