Russian newspapers, the Russian Foreign Ministry website and the Federal Agency for International Cooperation website praised the Soviet and Russian Universities Graduates Forum, which was recently held in Cairo in the presence of the Minister of Higher Education
Dr. Ayman Ashour and 150 participants from the Middle East and North Africa in cooperation with the North Caucasus Federal University and the Egyptian Association of Graduates of Russian and Soviet Universities.
The forum was dedicated to education and health care issues and two main seminars were held with the attendance of specialists in education and health affairs.
For his part, Pavel Shvetsov, Deputy Chairman of the Federal Agency for International Cooperation, indicated that holding the forum in Cairo will be an important step towards developing cooperation between Russia and the participating countries.
The Russian Ambassador to Cairo, Georgy Borisenko, also welcomed the presence of the Egyptian Minister of Higher Education, stressing that Russia continues its mission to prepare hundreds of thousands of highly qualified experts in various specializations to return to their countries to participate in development.
Dr. Ayman Ashour said: “I am proud of my doctoral studies at the Academy of Architecture in Moscow, which formed a large part of my practical, scientific and professional experience.” The Minister pointed out that we have ambitions to establish a unified university for the BRICS countries, and Dmitry Bespalov, President of the North Caucasus Federal University, expressed his happiness with this large participation of graduates and the university’s participation for the first time in the organization, indicating his aspiration for more cooperation between the university and Egyptian universities and universities in the Middle East and North Africa.
For his part, Sherif Gad, President of the Egyptian Association of Graduates of Russian and Soviet Universities, thanked the Federal Agency for International Cooperation, which began organizing the Alumni Forum in 2022 and chose Cairo as its venue for the two times, which reflects confidence in cooperation with the Egyptian Association of Graduates and Cairo’s readiness to host major international conferences.
Gad looked forward to more cooperation between Egypt and the Russian side in the fields of education and health care.
