Dr Anwar Ibrahim, the Prime Minister of Malaysia, tweeted today:
After the Cabinet meeting, I went straight to the Precinct 11 Food Court to continue my lunch routine with the local community every Friday. Flanked by Wan Aish Asyraaf’s younger sister, 11 years old, a student at SK Putrajaya Precinct 13, I had the opportunity to taste the food prepared while exchanging views on current issues with representatives of the residents.
I then performed Friday prayers at the Darul Ulum Surau of SMKA Putrajaya with the local congregation and also listened to a sermon titled ‘Happy Giving, Heaven Rewarded’ which, among other things, conveyed the message of the obligation to pay zakat and implement waqf practices through the channels provided in order to seek blessings in life in this world and in the hereafter.
Afterwards, I then returned to the office for my next official assignment. May we all continue to be blessed on this blessed Friday, Insya-Allah.
