Minister of FA & Immigration meets Minister of IRDCCCP of China

Dr. Badr Abdel Aati, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, met on Friday, December 13, with Mr. Liu Jianchao, Minister of the International Relations Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party (IRDCCCP) of China, on the sidelines of his bilateral visit to China.

Minister Abdel Aati stressed the special nature of bilateral relations with China, and the importance of building on the momentum generated by the periodic presidential meetings, the latest of which was the state visit of His Excellency the President of the Republic to Beijing in May 2024 and his participation as a guest of honor in the opening session of the tenth session of the Ministerial Meeting of the Arab-China Cooperation Forum, in addition to other high-level visits and mutual party visits that reflect the depth of relations between the two friendly countries, and the vitality of mutual interactions at the party level.

On the economic cooperation front, the Foreign Minister praised the joint projects between the two sides, especially the participation of Chinese companies in building the financial and business district in the New Administrative Capital, and Chinese investments in the Suez Canal Economic Zone, pointing out the Egyptian side’s keenness to transfer technology, localize industry in Egypt, and enhance investments in promising fields, especially new and renewable energy and green hydrogen. The two ministers also exchanged views on the most prominent regional developments, as Minister Abdel Aati reviewed the latest developments in the Middle East and their repercussions on the security and stability of the region, most notably the developments in Gaza and Egypt’s efforts to achieve an immediate ceasefire, in addition to the developments in Syria.
