Ambassador Şen: Turkey strongly supports the unity, integrity and development of all Arab countries and is ready to work together for the welfare of the Turkish and Arab peoples.
Turkish Ambassador to Cairo Salih Mutlu Şen met with the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States (LAS), Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit. At the headquarters of the Arab League, he presented the letter of H.E. Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan regarding his appointment as the Permanent Observer of the Republic of Turkey to the League of Arab States to the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit.
Ambassador Şen expressed his gratitude to the Secretary-General for his kindness and warm reception.
He explained that this letter was delivered in a warm atmosphere and at a critical time, and stressed that with this letter, Turkey’s relations with the League of Arab States, which is the common home of the sister Arab countries, have become official.
In his remarks about the meeting, Ambassador Şen said, “From now on, Turkey wants to activate cooperation using existing mechanisms by giving priority to activities focused on peace, stability, cooperation and development.

In his remarks, Ambassador Salih Mutlu Şen touched on the situation in Gaza, saying, “We stand side by side with the Arab League, especially in lifting the historical injustice and establishing an independent and sovereign Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, within the 1967 borders, and in solidarity with our oppressed and oppressed brothers in Gaza, where brutality continues.
