Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Governor of Cairo, received at the General Diwan of the Governorate a delegation from Henan Province, China, headed by Mr. Li Yu Nanchang, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the People’s Assembly of Henan Province, to congratulate him on assuming his new position as Governor of Cairo, within the framework of supporting bilateral relations, enhancing cooperation, developing partnership, and exchanging expertise in the fields of trade, investment, agriculture, tourism, and culture.
The Governor of Cairo stressed that today’s meeting with a delegation representing Henan Province reflects the depth of the brotherly and friendly ties between the two friendly countries, Egypt and China, which is evident in the strong relations between President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and the President of the friendly State of China.
The Governor of Cairo pointed out that there is a similarity between Henan Province and Cairo Governorate, as both belong to an ancient civilization and have a contemporary renaissance, as Henan has a rich cultural and historical heritage, and Henan Province plays a decisive role in the history of China, and has been a political, economic and cultural center for more than 3000 years for the State of China, stressing that the tremendous progress and major infrastructure projects that have been established in Henan in recent years in the fields of transportation, road construction, airports and giant power plants with enormous capacities are similar to the great civilizational renaissance that Egypt has witnessed since President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi assumed the presidency of the Republic, as roads and new cities have been established in the style of smart cities, such as the new administrative capital, and slums have been eliminated. The Governor of Cairo stressed that the capital has friendly relations, cooperation and exchanges in many fields with a large number of Chinese provinces and cities that are linked by memoranda of understanding and friendship agreements with Cairo Governorate.
It is noteworthy that Henan Province enjoys a strategic location, as it has an extensive transportation network, including railways and highways, and communication through fifth-generation technology, and has shown economic growth through a strong industrial system, including key sectors such as equipment manufacturing, food, textiles, electric power, building materials, machinery, oil and natural gas.
Henan Province is the main grain production area in China, as its grain and wheat production represents a large part of China’s production, playing an important role in ensuring national food security there.
