Turkish Ambassador to Cairo: It is natural for Turkey and Egypt, as two sister countries, to cooperate and grow together in technology parks and technical universities.
Turkish Ambassador to Cairo Salih Mutlu Shen visited Nile University on Wednesday, November 27.
During the visit, which came at the invitation of the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Wael Aql, the educational advisor at the Turkish Embassy in Cairo, Ibrahim Aslan, attended. The meeting held during the visit was also attended by the President of Nile University, Prof. Dr. Wael Aql, the Vice President of Nile University, Prof. Johansen Eid, Dr. Nevin Abdel Khaleq, Dean of the Faculty of Continuing Education at Nile University, Dr. Nevin Abdel Khaleq, a member of the Board of Directors, and Dr. Essam Rushdi, Vice President of Nile University.
During the meetings, the President of the University, Wael Aql, spoke about the history of the university, its management style, and the special importance that the university attaches to its students, education, research and development, especially technology and innovation. In this context, he explained that the university is a university of technology, research and development.
The university president said that they cooperate very closely with industrial institutions and technology companies, especially in the field of technology.
He also explained that they signed a close cooperation agreement with the R&D department of Beko, one of the largest Turkish investments in Egypt.
He added that the university is built on an area of 70 thousand square meters and when it was established in the 6th of October area, there were no buildings around it.
Now, 6 new faculties are being established in addition to the existing faculties.
Taking into account the progress made by Turkey in terms of technology parties and technical universities, the university president stated that they want to grow together through partnership with universities and technology parks in Turkey.
In response, Ambassador Salih Mutlu Şen said that it is natural for Turkey and Egypt, as two brotherly countries, to cooperate and grow together in technology parks and technical universities.
In this sense, he said that it is possible to cooperate with universities and technology parks in Turkey such as the Middle East Technical University, Istanbul Technical University, Yildiz Technical University, and the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey.
During the visit, Ambassador Salih Mutlu Shen inspected the university’s innovation, research and development departments, which aim to train entrepreneurs for small and joint projects and support the industry.
Upon learning that there will be a university graduation ceremony and the delivery of certificates to successful students on the day of the visit, Ambassador Shen presented an amount of 5 thousand pounds as a gift to be presented to the student graduating from the university as the top student. He also presented 5 thousand pounds as a gift to a student from Gaza.
During the meeting, the embassy and the university agreed to stay in touch regarding cooperation activities
