Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Cairo Governor, met with Ms. Koike Yorki, Governor of the Japanese capital, Tokyo, and her accompanying delegation, as part of their participation in the activities of the fourth day of the World Urban Forum (WUF 12).
The Cairo Governor stressed that the friendship and brotherhood relations between the Egyptian and Japanese peoples are long and deep, because they are peoples with history and civilization, noting that the friendship and brotherhood relations between Japan and Egypt are characterized by strength.
The Cairo Governor pointed out that the relations of brotherhood, friendship and cooperation between Cairo Governorate and Tokyo Governorate extend to nearly 34 years since the signing of the friendship and brotherhood agreement between the two governorates on October 23, 1990, as Cairo and Tokyo share many similarities, as they are among the largest and most important cities in the world, and both are cities that combine history and ancient civilization with progress, development and modern civilization, and share challenges.
For her part, Tokyo Governor Koike Yorki stressed the depth of relations between Cairo and Tokyo, expressing her desire to further activate exchanges and cooperation between the two cities, especially in the fields of education and student exchanges between schools in Cairo and Tokyo.
The Tokyo Governor also invited the Cairo Governor to attend the Sushi Tech Conference, which will be held next May on major emerging companies, with the attendance of senior officials from the five continents.
