His Excellency Ambassador Salih Mutlu Şen, distinguished and honorable guests, ladies and gentlemen, It is my great pleasure to join you today to extend my sincere congratulations to the people and government of the Republic of Turkey on the occasion of the 101st anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Turkey.

This anniversary is not just a celebration of Turkey’s historical achievements, but It is also a testament to the resilience, vision and commitment of its people to defend the values of independence, progress and unity.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my special appreciation to Ambassador Salih Mutlu Şen, the distinguished Ambassador of Turkey to the Arab Republic of Egypt.

Your tireless efforts to strengthen the ties between our two countries have been invaluable, and it is through this dedication that Egypt and Turkey have been able to strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation that we cherish today.

Over the past year, cooperation between our two countries has reached new heights, especially in the field of healthcare – an area of immense importance to both our countries.

This cooperation has proven to be particularly vital in the face of regional and global challenges that require a unified and compassionate response.

In October 2023, when the unimaginable humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza escalated, Egypt and Turkey stood together to bring hope and relief to those in dire need.

On a broader level, this cooperation is only the beginning of a new era in our bilateral relations.

The fruitful discussions we had with the Turkish Ministry of Health, including our dialogue with Minister Fahrettin Koca, paved the way for exciting new projects between our two countries.

Finally, I must also acknowledge the historic meetings between President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan this year, which marked a new chapter in the relations between our two countries.

Their leadership and vision have paved the way for deeper strategic cooperation, and I have no doubt that the coming years will witness even more cooperation. “I would like to extend my best wishes to His Excellency Ambassador Salih, and to all our Turkish friends and partners who have played an integral role in strengthening the ties between Egypt and Turkey.

Happy Republic Day and we hope that the friendship between Egypt and Turkey will continue to flourish for many years to come.

Thank you.”

Turkish Ambassador to Cairo Salih Mutlu Şen said in his speech during the ceremony that Turkey, on the 101st anniversary of its foundation and under the firm and solid will of our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, is now, with its population of 85 million, among the top ten countries in the world in industry, technology, culture, health, sports and defense.

Ambassador Salih Mutlu Şen said that while Turkey is struggling with all regional and global challenges, it will continue to adopt the principle of “Peace at Home, Peace in the World” which was defined by the great Ataturk. Ambassador Şen pointed out that permanent regional security, peace and stability can only be achieved with the end of the occupation in Palestine and the end of historical injustice.

He said, “How many Palestinians must die to put an end to this tragedy? 100 thousand? 500 thousand? 2 million? Almost all parts of Gaza have been destroyed, and now it is expected that the entire population will die or be killed? As our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said, the world is bigger than 5, and a more just world is possible!

Ambassador Salih Mutlu Şen emphasized: “A more just world is possible through the resolution of the Palestinian issue,” and pointed out that it is the desire of the entire region and the international community for Israel and Palestine to live side by side in peace, security and prosperity under the umbrella of two states.
