Governor of Cairo receives ambassador of Japan saying “farewell”

Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Governor of Cairo, met today with Ambassador Oka Hiroshi, Ambassador of Japan to Cairo, at the General Diwan of Cairo Governorate, on a farewell visit before his departure to end his mission in Egypt as Ambassador of Japan.

The Governor of Cairo pointed out during the meeting that the friendship and brotherhood relations between the Egyptian and Japanese peoples are long and deep, because they are peoples with history and civilization.

The Governor of Cairo added that the relations between Japan and Egypt are old, and their horizons have expanded over the years to include trade and cultural exchange, the influx of Japanese tourists to visit tourist sites, as well as cooperation in the field of education and the spread of Japanese schools, and cooperation with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in many fields.

The Governor of Cairo stressed that Egypt appreciates and is proud of its friendship with the State and people of Japan, which is evident in the mutual presidential meetings and contacts between the two countries, wishing the Ambassador success in his new duties.

The Governor of Cairo referred to the friendship and brotherhood agreement between Cairo and Tokyo since October 23, 1990, as the two cities share many similarities, as they are among the largest and most important cities in the world, and both are cities that combine history and ancient civilization with progress, development and modern civilization.

Ambassador Oka Hiroshi, the Japanese Ambassador to Cairo, confirmed that he lived in Egypt and witnessed the great development and rapid urban growth in it during the era of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, thanking the Governor of Cairo and his assistants for the fruitful cooperation throughout his tenure in Cairo.
