The rpresentative Osama Sharshar, editor-in-chief of Al-Nahar newspaper, praised the Egyptian army and its achievements during the October 6, 1973 war, noting that the Egyptian officer and soldier have a different belief, which is martyrdom and being the liberator of the precious land, so they are the best soldiers on earth, and Egypt is the land of the prophets.
This came on the sidelines of a symposium entitled: The Anniversary of the October War Victory and Lessons Learned for the Future, held at the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels at Sadat University, in the presence of: Major General Ali Hefzy, former Governor of North Sinai, and the Reconnaissance Officer in the 1973 War, Dr. Noha Azmy, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels at Sadat University, Dr. Jihan Nabil, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Student Education Affairs, and Dr. Khaled Jaafar, Vice President of the University, in front of hundreds of Sadat University students.
At the beginning of the meeting, “Sharshar” asked the attendees to stand for a minute of silence for the souls of the martyrs of the October War and the Gaza and Palestine wars, noting that so far not all the situations that occurred during 1967 and 1973 have been documented.
MP Osama Sharshar advised university students not to be carried away by rumors and to trust Egypt and the Egyptian army, which is ranked 15th among the world’s armies, noting that we have researchers at the scientific and technological levels in addition to great Egyptian models in all countries of the world, stressing: “Egypt is a child.”
He also added that the war currently taking place is not a war of weapons, but rather a war of minds using social media, artificial intelligence and modern technology, stressing that the deception strategy used by the Egyptian state in the October 1973 war is one of the reasons for victory, noting that the whole world is now turning to wars of minds, citing China, which now has an entire branch to deal with cyber wars and artificial intelligence wars.
He explained that university students played an important role in wars throughout ancient and modern history, stressing that global research centers and strategic studies centers have tried for years to decipher the codes of the October War and the strategy by which Egypt succeeded in defeating Israel.
He noted that Lieutenant Colonel Baqi Zaki Youssef is one of the main reasons for the October victory and was nicknamed the Conqueror of the Earthen Embankment, and the Stormer of the Bar Lev Line after he blew up Israel’s most important defensive line in 1973 with “water pumps”, after he told his army commanders that the earthen embankment had 3 faults that could blow it up at once.
In response to a question from one of the students, Sharshar stressed the need to record the heroism of Egypt’s youth in the October War in full and make it available to young people now to view because we have only recorded a little so far, pointing out that the Al-Aqsa flood brought the Palestinian cause back to the conscience and minds of Egyptian youth, who carried out a very effective campaign to boycott products supporting the Zionist entity, calling on the Egyptian state to create an integrated system to protect Egyptian awareness against the identity war that Egypt and the Arab region are facing, especially since young people at this stage are the torchbearers of the future, and they must be protected from rumors and lies, especially now that Egypt has a shield and a sword. Sharshar called on students to pay attention to modern technology, the weapon of the age to advance Egypt in all fields. For example, in the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, students can be taught to cooperate with technology colleges to conduct tourist tours for foreigners in Egyptian tourist sites through virtual reality glasses that can bring billions of dollars into the Egyptian state treasury annually.
