Turkish Ambassador to Cairo Salih Mutlu Shen congratulated the Egyptian army and nation on the occasion of the 51st anniversary of the October 6 Victory.
Ambassador Shen wrote on his Facebook page:
“I extend my congratulations to the heroic Egyptian army and all the brotherly Egyptian people on the 51st anniversary of the October 6 Victory.”
Ambassador Shen referred to his talk about the Egyptian army in his speech during the celebrations of Turkish Victory Day (Armed Forces Day), which was celebrated on August 30, 2024:
“The Egyptian army made heroic sacrifices and showed its courage to protect Egyptian lands and for the cause of Palestine.”
Ambassador Salih Mutlu Shen pointed out that there is a great similarity in traditions between the Egyptian and Turkish armies resulting from historical unity, and said that the Egyptian army is one of the strongest armies in its region and that its effective and leading position in the Arab and Islamic world is well known.
Ambassador Shen stated that Turkey appreciates the strength and prestigious position of the Egyptian Armed Forces and the importance of Egypt, and in accordance with the decision of the President of the Republic, Turkey promoted the rank of military attaché at its embassy in Cairo from colonel to brigadier general.
