Dr. Badr Abdel Aati, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, met today, Monday, September 23, with Ms. Alexandra Hill Tinoco, Minister of Foreign Affairs of El Salvador, on the sidelines of the high-level segment meetings of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Dr. Abdel Aati expressed Egypt’s pride in relations with El Salvador, and its aspiration to work on strengthening bilateral cooperation and expanding its scope to include all fields, and holding a new round of political consultations between the two countries during the current year in Cairo to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation. He stressed the importance of strengthening economic, trade and investment relations between Egypt and expanding their scope to include other fields such as agriculture, textiles, livestock, pharmaceutical industry, and tourism.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs highlighted Egypt’s efforts in attracting foreign direct investment, and the possibility of the Salvadoran side benefiting from promising investment opportunities in Egypt.
During the meeting, the two ministers agreed to intensify consultation and coordination on issues of common interest at the international level in light of the convergence of views between the two countries on them.
