Mr. Badr Abdel Aati, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, made a phone call with Mr. Bui Thanh Son, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam.
In a statement by Ambassador/ Tamim Khalaf, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, he explained that the Minister of Foreign Affairs congratulated his Vietnamese counterpart on assuming the position of Deputy Prime Minister, wishing him success in his new position. He explained that Dr. Abdel Aati stressed during the call the depth of the historical friendship between the two countries, expressing our aspiration to enhance joint cooperation in the political, economic, commercial and tourism fields during the coming period.
The official spokesman added that Dr. Badr Abdel Aati expressed the Arab Republic of Egypt’s sincere condolences for the death of Vietnamese citizens as a result of the devastating Typhoon “Yagi”, which resulted in a large number of victims, injured and missing, stressing Egypt’s solidarity, government and people, with Vietnam and its friendly people in this painful affliction.
The official spokesman concluded his statements by pointing out that the Minister of Foreign Affairs praised during the call the positive coordination between Egypt and Vietnam in international forums and multilateral frameworks, and expressed his aspiration to receive the Vietnamese Foreign Minister in Cairo at the earliest opportunity to continue the pace of cooperation between the two countries and push it to broader horizons.
