Boosting cooperation with Egypt is a MUST due to the deadliest regional war by Israel-Hamas war

German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier emphasized the urgent necessity of cooperation with Egypt to overcome the crises occurring in the region, especially after the spread of the deadliest war between Israel and Hamas affecting regional stability.

This came during the reception organized in the German president’s honour by the German embassy in Cairo, marking the first visit by a German president to Egypt in 25 years.

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, several Egyptian ministers, German Ambassador Jürgen Schulz, members of the diplomatic and consular corps of the German embassy in Cairo, many of the German community members in Cairo, teaching staff members of German schools, and Egyptian society and media figures attended the celebration.

During the celebration, President Steinmeier expressed his happiness about visiting Egypt, pointing out that Cairo has a long history of events and heritage.

It is a city that builds bridges between continents and civilizations and combines the wisdom of ancient times with dynamism and modernity, he said.

Moreover, the German president praised the contribution of German companies to the Egyptian economy, especially the company working on establishing a high-speed railway network that will connect Alexandria, Suez, and Cairo.

He also expressed his appreciation for the quality of technical education in Egypt and the German-Egyptian partnership in this specialization, which benefits the Egyptian and German markets.

The reception witnessed musical performances by artists and musicians from Germany of Egyptian origins.

Those included soprano Fatima Saeed, who performed songs in German and Arabic, and journalist Annabelle Wehbe, who presented her novel The Cham eleon, which revolves around the story of a family with Egyptian and German roots, in German.

Furthermore, Adel Al-Taweel performed a piece of pop music, and the Cairo Steps band, led by the Egyptian-German artist Bassem Darwish, performed several jazz pieces.
