Madbouly: We look forward to the Chinese company “CSCEC” transforming from being a mere contracting company to a comprehensive investor that helps attract investments to the Egyptian market in various sectors

On the sidelines of his participation on behalf of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, in the China-Africa Cooperation Forum Summit in the Chinese capital, Beijing, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, met today with Mr. Wan Bing, General Manager of the China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC), which is implementing the Central Business District in the New Administrative Capital, and a number of projects in the New Alamein City, in the presence of Ambassador/Assem Hanafi, Egypt’s Ambassador to China.
The Prime Minister began the meeting by welcoming Mr. Wan Ping, stressing the depth of the strategic partnership relations between Egypt and China, expressing his appreciation for the activity of the Chinese company “CSCEC” in the Egyptian market, where the company is implementing a number of important projects, including the Central Business District in the New Administrative Capital, and a number of projects in the New Alamein City.
The Prime Minister told the General Manager of the Chinese company: “Your company has become a great position for us in Egypt, through its implementation of many major projects that represent an achievement for modern Egypt.”
Dr. Mostafa Madbouly added that with regard to construction and building projects, the Central Business District in the New Administrative Capital and the “Downtown” project in the New Alamein City are a distinctive mark in the field of modern construction in Egypt.
He pointed out that the Egyptian government has other important projects in the sectors of health, aviation and mining, indicating that ways of agreement are being discussed regarding future steps related to these projects.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister expressed his aspiration for the Chinese company “CSCEC” to transform from being a mere contracting company to a comprehensive investor that helps attract investments to the Egyptian market in various sectors.
In turn, the General Manager of the Chinese company expressed his thanks to Dr. Mostafa Madbouly for giving him the opportunity to conduct this interview, saying: “We are very proud of your interest in the projects implemented by our company in Egypt, and we thank you for your continuous support for us, and for your intensive visits to the project sites being implemented,” stressing that this continuous support is what contributed to the company’s projects reaching this level of success.
Mr. Wan Ping also confirmed that “CSCEC” is the largest company in the world in the field of contracting and investments, adding: “We have great confidence in the development plans and the advancement of the various sectors implemented by the Egyptian state, and we will exert all our efforts to contribute to the implementation of these development plans.”
The General Manager of CSCEC pointed out that the company’s projects in Egypt are a prominent sign of cooperation between Egypt and China, stressing the company’s interest in these projects and that they are on the agenda of its work priorities.
“Ping” confirmed that due to the successes achieved by the Chinese company in Egypt, and due to the constant support for it from the Egyptian government, we will make every effort to expand our activities in Egypt during the next stage.
He added: “We have a strong desire to cooperate with you in the airport development project, as well as operating the financial and business center, and phosphate mining projects,” noting that the company also has extensive experience in establishing major hospitals, and has implemented many of these hospitals in China, and is pleased to contribute to establishing the medical city in Egypt, and other projects in the medical sector.
He also stressed the company’s readiness and desire to pump more investments into the Egyptian market, in addition to working to attract various investments, as “CSCEC” has extensive experience in this field.
The company’s director pointed out that after completing the implementation of the Financial and Business Center project in the Administrative Capital, the company will work on managing, operating and marketing it in the best possible way, stressing the diversity of the company’s investment portfolio and its areas of work, and that it is working on studying the diversification of its investments in Egypt, saying: “We will exert all our efforts to contribute to the Egyptian economic renaissance, and we hope for your continued support and the support of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for our projects.”
The meeting witnessed a review of a number of offers submitted to implement the medical city, and in this context, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly noted that they were presented in a meeting a few days ago to His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and commented, saying: “The President assigned me to work on choosing the most appropriate offer to implement the medical city project, not only in terms of design, but also in terms of the implementation mechanism.”
The Prime Minister added that with regard to building new airports or halls, it was agreed that the company that will be chosen for implementation will undertake the tasks of management, operation and marketing.
Regarding the operation of the Central Business District, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly expressed his appreciation for all the studies conducted by the company in this regard, adding that the executive steps will be initiated to manage, operate and market this important project, noting his directives to the Minister of Housing in this regard.
Regarding phosphate mining projects, the Prime Minister indicated that a meeting will be held with the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources to discuss this project.
Dr. Mostafa Madbouly added that as for the New Alamein Towers project, it was agreed to complete the lake in the middle of the project next summer, expressing his aspiration to complete this on the specified date, so that we can market the project.
The company’s general manager commented, “After completing this meeting, we will work on studying all the necessary directives to work on implementing them.”
He continued: Regarding the medical city, we are studying the financing mechanism and will present it to the Egyptian side, explaining that the company is studying cooperation with international companies to operate the airports or new halls that will be implemented.
He explained that as for the central financial and business district project, the company will complete its studies on operation and management and will meet with the concerned officials to discuss this.
He pointed out that regarding mining projects, the company has a desire to push these projects, especially in the field of phosphate, while regarding the new El Alamein Lake, the concerned officials will be assigned to work on pushing these projects, noting that he will visit Egypt soon to follow up on the implementation of what was agreed upon.
