Minister of FA &  Immigration receives ambassadors of Arab countries accredited to Egypt

On Thursday, September 5, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Badr Abdel Aati, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, held an extensive meeting with the ambassadors of sister Arab countries accredited to Cairo, in the presence of Dr. Khaled El-Enany, the Egyptian candidate for the position of Director-General of UNESCO.

Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration and Director of the Public Diplomacy Department, stated that Minister Abdel Aati began the meeting by welcoming the Arab ambassadors to their second country, Egypt, noting that his meeting with the group of Arab ambassadors in the first meetings he holds with ambassadors of countries accredited to Egypt comes within the framework of emphasizing Egypt’s Arab role, and the fraternal relations and deep historical ties that bind it with all sister Arab countries, in light of the unity of destiny that unites them and the common interest aimed at preserving the security and stability of all Arab countries, and achieving the aspirations of their peoples for prosperity and prosperity.

The official spokesman added that the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration reviewed the unprecedented and serious challenges facing the Arab region at the present stage, pointing out the dangers that have emerged on the Arab scene in recent years and have begun to threaten the entity of the nation-state itself and take many forms, in addition to other crises targeting the capabilities of Arab countries and their peoples. His Excellency also stressed that the only way to confront these common challenges is to work to preserve the nation-state and its institutions, in addition to intensifying coordination and joint cooperation between all Arab countries on the bilateral level, and through the mechanisms of collective Arab action, and promoting the concept of Arab national security and the true belief that it is indivisible.

Ambassador Abu Zeid explained that Dr. Abdel Aati expressed Egypt’s keenness to strengthen its relations with all sister Arab countries by promoting economic and investment relations, in a way that serves the common interests between Egypt and its brothers on the bilateral and collective levels, calling on the ambassadors of Arab countries to explore promising investment opportunities in Egypt, as well as work to promote trade exchange, believing that opportunities for real economic advancement and development will only be achieved through comprehensive Arab solidarity.

His Excellency also stressed that the only way to ensure stability in the Middle East is to reach a comprehensive and just political settlement of the Palestinian issue in accordance with the references of international legitimacy and on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The meeting witnessed an in-depth discussion between the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the ambassadors of the Arab countries regarding various issues and topics of common interest, which affect the security and stability of the Arab region and all its countries. The meeting also addressed reaffirming the support of all Arab countries for the nomination of Dr. Khaled El-Enani for the position of Director-General of UNESCO, in light of his being the Arab candidate for this important international position in accordance with the decision of the Arab Summit in Manama.
