The third edition of the Global AI Summit, which will be held next week in Riyadh, attaches great importance to reviewing the rapid progress in the field of generative artificial intelligence and formulating a common international opinion on how to achieve the optimal benefit from the enormous capabilities of generative artificial intelligence as it is the most important modern technology that contributes significantly to rapid technical development and increases opportunities for innovation and growth in various fields that benefit all of humanity.
The summit sheds light on this technology to be a path towards general artificial intelligence, which encourages a deep understanding of these pioneering technologies and their future effects, and raises awareness among the private and public sectors, the non-profit sector and individuals about the multiple uses of generative intelligence technologies in various aspects of life, as these technologies have many advantages that can be employed in multiple fields, and represent a qualitative leap in their ability to interact with machines with users.
These efforts come within the Kingdom’s international initiatives that aim to raise people’s awareness of these advanced technologies, including the launch of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) on January 11 of the Guiding Principles for the Use of Generative AI Tools (Generative AI Principles). The document includes the principles governing the use of government data, namely integrity and fairness, reliability and safety, transparency and interpretability, accountability and responsibility, privacy and security, humanity, and social and environmental benefits.
SDAIA also launched the “Generative AI Academy” on February 13 in cooperation with NVIDIA to build a capable generation in this important field; and in its belief in the importance of building qualified and globally competitive national capabilities to achieve ambitious aspirations and goals.
Generative AI technologies are characterized by tremendous capabilities that help raise quality, increase capabilities and business efficiency, improve productivity, accelerate research, enhance customer experience, develop business processes, enhance employee productivity, and support creative tasks.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is keen to achieve maximum benefit from these technologies in line with its Vision 2030 to enhance the Kingdom’s leadership position in these fields.
