The Film Commission announced its participation in the 81st Venice International Film Festival 2024, scheduled to be held from August 28 to September 7, 2024, in Venice, Italy, which is one of the oldest and most important film festivals in the world, and part of the Venice Biennale, and recognized by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF).
Through this participation, the Film Commission aims to consolidate the Kingdom’s position as a global destination for cinema, strengthen international relations, highlight Saudi cultural and cinematic richness, enhance the presence of the Saudi film sector in international forums, in addition to highlighting its most prominent archival efforts, and emphasizing the importance of the National Film Archive.
The Authority’s participation in the festival is represented by organizing a roundtable event entitled “Challenges Facing Modern and Emerging Archives in Particular”, and the Authority’s Archive Management Team will discuss these challenges in an enriching dialogue, in the presence of partners in the film sector in the Kingdom; to enhance cultural dialogue and knowledge exchange.
The Film Authority’s participation in the Venice Film Festival 2024 comes within the context of its participation in international film forums; contributing to the development of the Saudi film scene, empowering Saudi talents, and exchanging experiences, opinions and knowledge, which consolidates its presence on the global cinema map.
