The foreign ministers of the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Italy issued a press statement on the ceasefire between the Palestinian resistance and the extremist government of Benjamin Netanyahu, which read as follows:
We strongly support the ongoing mediation efforts by the United States, Egypt and Qatar to conclude a ceasefire agreement and release the hostages, and we are encouraged by the constructive approach taken so far.
We welcome the fact that technical work will continue over the coming days, including on humanitarian aspects and specific arrangements related to the hostages and detainees, and that senior officials will then meet, before the end of next week, with the aim of concluding the agreement.
We urge all parties to continue to engage positively and flexibly in this process. We stress the importance of avoiding any escalatory action in the region that would undermine the prospects for peace. There is a lot at stake.
* But a question remains arises:
Will the Netanyahu government respect the efforts of the foreign ministers of Britain, France, Germany and Italy, in conjunction with Egypt and Qatar?
