Ambassador Şen: The factory is expected to start production by the end of this year and will provide 3,000 opportunities for our Egyptian brothers

The Turkish Ambassador to Cairo, Mr. Saleh Mutlu Şen, Major General Akram Galal, Governor of Ismailia, Mr. Walid Gamal El-Din, Chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Zone, and Mr. Noureddine Eroğlu, owner of Eroğlu Global Holding Company, participated in the foundation stone laying ceremony of a new factory for Eroğlu Global Holding Company in Ismailia Governorate.

Ambassador Şen added in his speech on the sidelines of the foundation stone laying ceremony that the new project, the foundation of which we laid today, will be built on a closed area of 45 thousand square meters on a land area of 65 thousand square meters, and that the factory will be equipped with the latest technologies and will include a recycled water treatment system and environmentally friendly energy facilities, and is scheduled to be operational in December of this year. Ambassador Shen said that Egypt and Turkey are stronger together, explaining that this project, with an investment cost of $40 million, will provide job opportunities and success for 3,000 Egyptian brothers. The project will also have an export capacity of $100 million, as it will be allocated to producing jeans for the most famous international brands, with an expected annual production capacity of 7 million jeans when fully operational.

Ambassador Shen pointed out that Turkish investments in Egypt continue to develop and grow, explaining that Eroglu Global Holding, the owner of the new project, has another factory in Damietta that was established in 2010 with investments of $120 million and currently employs 1,600 Egyptian brothers.

Ambassador Shen added that Eroglu Global Holding will invest a total of $100 million in EROGLU GARMENT and DNM companies, starting today until the end of 2025, and will reach an export capacity of $280 million from Egypt.

Ambassador Shen thanked the company owner, Mr. Noureddine Eroglu, and the company’s managers for this long-term investment that contributes to the economies of the two brotherly countries. He indicated that the horizon of economic cooperation between Egypt and Turkey is very large.

At the end of his speech, Ambassador Shen stated that this investment and the investments to be implemented in the short, medium and long term are part of the growth and development strategy pursued by Turkey with sisterly Egypt as complementary economies, indicating that President Sisi’s expected visit to Turkey and the agreements to be signed within the framework of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council will enhance economic cooperation.

Ambassador Shen said that the economic and technical agreements to be signed were reviewed during the meetings between Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aty.

Under the leadership of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Eroglu Global Holding, Mr. Nureddin Eroglu, the company will add a new chapter to its journey that began in Istanbul in 1983 by holding a foundation stone laying ceremony in Egypt.

Eroglu Global Holding operates in the fields of ready-made garments, denim fabric production, retail, services, and the construction sector in many countries, most notably Turkey, and employs tens of thousands of workers. The company will start its second major investment in Egypt in Ismailia.

Eroglu Global Holding’s new project, Eroglu Garment, will be in Abu Khalifa area under the management of SC Zone Authority, on a total area of 65 thousand square meters, with a closed area of 45 thousand square meters. The factory will contain modern technologies, including a water reuse system, as well as projects to produce environmentally friendly energy.
