It is worth noting that Ambassador Scholz presented a copy of his credentials to Ambassador Ashraf El-Deeb, Acting Director of the Protocol Department, at the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs; he will be officially accredited after delivering the original copy to the Egyptian President.
In his first statements as Ambassador-designate, Mr. Scholz said:
“Egypt is an important partner for Germany in the fields of foreign policy, economy, culture and science. It is a pleasure for me to work as German Ambassador to further strengthen our cooperation.”
With his extensive experience as a diplomat in several places, including Ankara and New York, Ambassador Scholz hopes to continue to strengthen the close German-Egyptian relations.
