Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, stated in press statements today that Mr. Dr. Badr Abdel Aati, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptians Abroad, began his visit to Rwanda on Sunday, August 11, by visiting the Memorial for the Victims of the Genocide in Kigali and the attached museum, which is dedicated to commemorating the events of the genocide that Rwanda witnessed in the nineties of the last century, where he laid a wreath of flowers in front of the memorial, and wrote a word in the visitors’ book.
Abu Zeid noted that the speech of the Minister of Foreign Affairs included expressing sorrow as a result of the disaster that Rwanda witnessed 30 years ago, pointing out the inspirational story of Rwanda’s success in promoting tolerance, and the steadfastness of the Rwandan people in their quest for peace, stability and prosperity, expressing full sympathy with the victims of the genocide and their families
