The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the Communications, Space and Technology Commission, participated in the work of the Global Symposium for Telecommunications Regulators GSR24 under the title “Regulating for Impact,” held in the Ugandan city of Kampala, which aims to enhance dialogue in the communications and technology sector between regulators, legislators, policy developers, officials and stakeholders. A platform for exchanging knowledge and experiences on the most prominent regulatory issues and developments in the telecommunications sector and studying the best regulatory practices applied at the international level.

The Kingdom’s delegation was headed by the Deputy Governor of the Communications, Space and Technology Commission for the Regulatory and Competition Sector, Engineer Omar Al-Rajaraj, to participate in meetings related to the CEOs of regulatory bodies in countries around the world and high-level dialogue sessions to highlight the Kingdom’s role in reimagining regulation to achieve a positive social and economic impact.

It is noteworthy that the Global Symposium for Telecommunication Regulators is an annual event organized by the Telecommunication Development Bureau of the International Telecommunication Union, which hosts the heads of national bodies regulating the telecommunications sector from developed and developing countries, and brings together a number of specialized experts from more than 70 countries, and decision makers, to Along with representatives of national and international companies to enhance the exchange of expertise and share international experiences to serve the relevant sectors.
