King Abdulaziz Foundation for Creativity launches the largest summer program to care for gifted students, with broad Egyptian and Arab participation

The King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity “Mawhiba” launched its enrichment programs represented by the Mawhiba Academic Enrichment Program, the Mawhiba Research Enrichment Program, the Mawhiba International Enrichment Program, and the Mawhiba Ambassadors Program for the summer of 2024, through more than 100 programs in 16 cities.

 The programs, which begin today, will continue for 3, 4, and 6 weeks, depending on each program and its duration, with the participation of about 13,000 students, including 450 students from various Arab countries: Syria, Jordan, Palestine, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain. , Tunisia, Algeria, Iraq, the Sultanate of Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Libya, Morocco, Mauritania, Yemen, Egypt, and South Africa, and will provide them with intensive scientific enrichment materials in the research, scientific and technical fields of vital importance, so that the students will acquire many scientific and personal skills during them. In addition to participating in various activities and field trips inside and outside the program headquarters.

 12,219 male and female students in 68 programs in 16 cities participate in the Mawhiba Academic Enrichment Program, 480 male and female students participate in the Mawhiba International Enrichment Program, and 485 male and female students participate in the Mawhiba Research Enrichment Program, enrolled in 14 programs, while they participate in the “Mawhiba Ambassadors” program. Which is held in 3 countries; America, Britain, and Ireland, 128 male and female students in 24 programs.

 The Secretary-General of the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba), Dr. Amal bint Abdullah Al-Hazza, explained that the summer enrichment programs provided by the “Mawhiba” Foundation, in strategic partnership with the Ministry of Education, Saudi universities, and research centers, aim to provide advanced scientific knowledge and experiences that develop students’ abilities and skills. And provide them with appropriate support for their development and refinement.

 Dr. Al-Hazza confirmed that the students are trained by leading international experts in caring for the gifted, to provide them with academic knowledge and scientific skills in a number of scientific enrichment units.

 In turn, the Deputy Secretary-General for Gifted Services, Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Sharif, pointed out that what distinguishes enrichment programs is expanding students’ mental and cognitive awareness, identifying and discovering the student’s scientific field to set his future goals, as well as developing personal and social skills and giving students 21st century skills. The programs also provide A scientific and enriching environment that enables students to mingle with their talented peers of the same age group, in addition to practicing scientific activities under the supervision of specialists to highlight their creative abilities, and to invest students’ time during the summer vacation.

 It is noteworthy that, through these scientific programs, students master the skills of conducting experiments related to research, analyzing data, drawing conclusions, writing scientific reports, and coming up with original research ideas and scientific research proposals in the fields of nanotechnology and materials science, in addition to several research fields, such as environmental sensors and renewable energy. Such as engineering lithium batteries, converting carbon dioxide, and producing hydrogen, as well as purifying water from environmental pollutants, and converting waste into economically viable materials. These programs are also supervised by experts, faculty members, teachers, scientists, and an elite group of doctors and specialists.
