Tonight, the Azerbaijani Embassy celebrated its National Day 106 on the great Nile River.. Accordingly, “AldiploMasy” offers its deep and warm CONGRATULATIONS 🎉 👏 to the people of Azerbaijan led by Mr president Ilham Aliyev and here in Egypt the ambassador of Azerbaijan Dr. El-Khan Polukhov and the whole Azerbaijani mission.
The celebration was attended by top politicians such as Mr Amr Musa, the former general -secretary of the League of Arab States..the former Minister of foreign affairsif Egypt, the prime minister of Egypt Dr Isam Sharaf, members of ambassadors of diplomatic missions like amb. salih_mutlu_sen, amb. of Pakistan Sajid Bilal, etc., businessWomen/Men, some members of the House of Representatives and Senate Such as Senator Dr. Rasha Ishaq, Chairman of the Senate Human Rights Committee, media people such as Mr Amr Yehia Salam the editing manager of Ahram English edition and thinkers, etc.
Mr Ambassador dr. ElKhan Polukhov gave his expressive speech welcoming the attendence and highlighting the long history of friendly relations with Egypt as follows:

Dear friends, distinguished guests, dignitaries from Government, Parliament and Senate of Egypt, colleagues from diplomatic corps, compatriots.
It is my honor and privilege to greet all of you today, on a celebration of Independence Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
It is very important for us that so many friends joined to our celebration of the 106th anniversary of the Republic of Azerbaijan, which is a continuation of the first democracy in the Muslim East – Azerbaijan Democratic Republic. I want to underline that, since regaining independence from Soviet Union in 1991, Azerbaijan for the first time meets this date with condition of fully restored sovereignty and integrity over the all territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and we can proudly state that under the leadership of His Excellency, President Ilham Aliyev country put to the end more than 30 years old Armenian-Azerbaijan Nagorno Karabakh conflict!

Egypt and Azerbaijan have a long history of friendly relations and your presence today in this event is life evidence of that. January of last year I had the honor to accompany the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt H.E. Abulfattah Al Sisi on his first historical trip to Azerbaijan.

This visit has opened the doors for further deepening of the relations between our countries. But in the same time, I should notice that the high level of political relations between our countries does not correspond to the level of economic cooperation, and in this regard, we have a lot of work in ahead.

It is also important to note that last year we have celebrated the centenary of the birth of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev, who in 1994 paid an official visit to Egypt. In this regard, together with our friends a number of academic, sports and cultural events were organized to mark this date, and we highly value support given to us on this matter by our local partners.
* Regionally and globally!
Egypt and Azerbaijan are playing important role regionally and globally and our open and honest position regarding many issues of international agenda demonstrate high level of cooperation not only in bilateral but also in multilateral flora. This year Azerbaijan will host the – COP 29 and Egypt as a host destination for COP-27 shares with us its valuable experience on organizing this largest even UN and all of these efforts ones again demonstrate level of partnership between our countries.

During our history both countries went through different territorial and political turmoil’s but thanks to the wise policy of our political leaders we succeeded on building strong and prosperous countries where we are living now!
