In a new national achievement, the Kingdom’s male and female students participating in the two largest international competitions for science, engineering, invention and innovation, “ISEF 2024” and “ITEX 2024”, won 114 medals and major and special prizes, thus continuing their previous achievements that they achieved in the same two competitions in their previous versions.
This new achievement is added to the list of achievements of the sons and daughters of the nation, and their representation of the Kingdom in an honorable manner reflects the high level of competitiveness national talents have reached with their counterparts from all countries of the world, thanks to God and then with the unlimited sponsorship and support of the wise leadership – may God support it – in achieving the objectives of the development program. Human capabilities and the Kingdom’s vision 2030.
This achievement also reflects the joint efforts of educational and private institutions led by the Ministry of Education in cooperation with the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity “Mawhiba”, Tuwaiq Academy and Misk Schools, to qualify students and develop their talents and abilities. To continue to represent the Kingdom in international and global forums in a distinguished manner that reflects the Kingdom’s pioneering and advanced position in the field of science, technology, engineering, invention and innovation.
The Kingdom’s students won 27 awards at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair “ISEF 2024” in Los Angeles, United States, including 9 special awards, in addition to 18 major awards, in which the students won two awards, with second place going to student Hamad Al-Husseini, Riyadh Education Department, in the field of energy. And the student Abeer Al-Yousef from the Al-Ahsa Education Department in the field of chemistry, and 6 awards in third place were awarded to: Elias Khan from the Mecca Education Department in the field of biomedicine and health sciences, Suleiman Al-Musnad and Latifa Al-Ghannam from the Eastern Education Department in the field of energy, and Turki Al-Dalami from the Education Department. Eastern Province in the field of environmental engineering, Tahani Ahmed from the Eastern Province Education Department in the field of materials science, and Laila Zawawi from the Riyadh Education Administration in the field of translational medical sciences.
The Saudi Science and Engineering Team was able to win 10 awards in fourth place for: Nasser Al-Suwayyan from the Qassim Education Department in the field of biomedical engineering, Lana Al-Mazroui from the Makkah Education Department in the field of cellular and molecular biology, Yara Al-Qadi from the Eastern Education Department, and Yara Al-Bakri from the Makkah Education Department in the field of earth and environmental sciences, Shahad Al-Mutlaq from the Eastern Education Department in the field of energy, Asma Al-Qusair from the Riyadh Education Department in the field of environmental engineering, Areej Al-Qarni from the Makkah Education Department in the field of materials science, and Lana Al-Fuhaid from the Riyadh Education Department in materials science. , Layan Al-Maliki from the Eastern Province Education Department, and Tamara Radi from the Makkah Education Department in plant sciences.
The Kingdom’s male and female students also won 87 gold and silver medals and major and special prizes among 48 projects at the International Exhibition of Invention, Innovation and Technology “ITEX 2024” in Malaysia, where 3 major prizes were won by: Lamia Al-Otaibi from the Taif Education Department, and Muhammad Abu Ghandar from the Education Department. Medina, and Al-Sadeem Al-Odaibi from the Eastern Province Education Department.
