His Excellency the Minister of Finance, Mr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Jadaan, headed the Kingdom’s delegation participating in the preparatory meeting of the Economic and Social Council for the Arab Summit (33), which was held at the ministerial level in the Bahraini city of Manama, with the participation of Their Excellencies, representatives of member states of the League of Arab States, and a number of specialists from its General Secretariat. .

In his speech during the meeting, His Excellency Al-Jadaan indicated that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia had the honor of hosting the Arab Summit in its thirty-second regular session, which concluded its work with the issuance of the final statement (Jeddah Declaration), which included many initiatives that serve joint Arab action in the economic, agricultural, cultural and educational fields. .

He explained that the previous summit issued many important decisions that are in the interest of joint Arab action, the most important of which is completing the requirements of the Greater Arab Free Trade Area, in addition to adopting the Arab Strategy for Tourism, which it is hoped will contribute to enhancing the contribution of this important sector to Arab economic development.

It should be noted that the meeting discussed a number of topics that were included in the economic and social file that will be submitted to the Arab Summit at its thirty-third regular session.

The meeting stressed the importance of strengthening joint Arab economic and social action and finding urgent solutions to the challenges facing the region and its people, especially in light of the rapid changes witnessed by the global economy, and at a stage in which the countries of the world are trying to confront global economic challenges and move forward in implementing the 2030 Sustainable Development Plan.
