A Saudi student crowned among the best three participants in AIC

The global company (Apple) announced on its website the victory of Saudi student Jawaher Al-Anazi, from the Apple Developer Academy (which is a partnership between Apple and Tuwaiq Academy), and praised her as one of the best three distinguished applications out of 350 winners representing 35 countries, in the global Swift Challenge. Apple CEO Tim Cook praised student Jawaher Al-Anazi as the first Saudi woman to be among the best three distinguished projects in this challenge.
The winning student, Jawaher Shaman Al-Anazi, said: She was very close to her grandfather, who died when she was five years old, and after a short period of time she developed stuttering, which became debilitating for her. Over time, and with the help of her father, she was able to learn ways to control stuttering, and she is now working on her project to create An application called My Child, which enables its users to help them in cases of stuttering.
Jawahar Shaman added: “My parents never made me feel different, and I hope my app will do the same for any child or young person who stutters.”
The “My Child” app tells the story of Jawaher Shaman through the eyes of a stuttering child, and features characters inspired by her father and grandfather. The app guides users through exercises that help slow their breathing and prepare them for real-life experiences such as reading a story in a classroom. Jawaher Shaman used AVFAudio to add simulated sounds. The way her father breaks sentences into small, manageable chunks.
Jawaher Shaman stated that she aspires to work as a programmer in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. She also wants to publish the “My Child” application on the App Store and continue creating applications that help others.
It is worth noting that five female students from the Apple Developers Academy in partnership with Tuwaiq Academy won this challenge. Tuwaiq Academy is the result of a partnership between the Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming and Drones and Princess Noura bint Abdul Rahman University. The five female students were: Jawaher Al-Anazi, Afrah Jubayr, Haya Al-Saber, Wajd Al-Hadlaq, and Al-Jawhara Al-Masoud. Among the 350 winners, the Apple Developer Academy – Tuwaiq works diligently and continuously to build national capabilities in the technical fields, and welcomes girls who wish to join the camps.
