The Arab Republic of Egypt, in a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on April 23, 2024, welcomed the agreement reached on April 21 between Armenia and Azerbaijan regarding Armenia’s return of four villages to Azerbaijan, and the demarcation of the borders around them.
Egypt indicated that this agreement is a positive development, and comes as a culmination of the efforts made to demarcate the borders between the two countries.
The Arab Republic of Egypt appreciates this important step. It also encourages the two sides to take further confidence-building steps, in order to sign a peace agreement between the two countries.
