At the beginning of the meeting, Ibrahim Aslan expressed his great happiness at the warm reception of Prof. Dr. Khaled Al-Dirndali, President of Zagazig University in the presence of Dr. Ihab El-Beblawy, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and a group of professors, appreciating the efforts made to consolidate the relations between Egypt and Turkey.
The two sides discussed how to strength cooperation relations push it to broader horizons at all levels. Thus , ways of cooperation and coordination were discussed for establishing an Egyptian-Turkish technological college at the headquarters of Zagazig University on the 10th of Ramadan, with the aim of covering the needs of the factories located in the industrial zone on the 10th of Ramadan, as a first step, followed by many other projects that contribute to the advancement of commercial, industrial and political relations between the two brotherly countries.
In a related context, the two sides recently discussed signing student and academic exchange agreements, such as Erasmus, which will allow both parties to jointly benefit from multiple experiences at all levels. The possibility of renewing cooperation in recruiting Turkish teachers to teach the Turkish language in the Department of Turkish Studies at the University’s College of Asian Studies was also discussed.
Within the framework of Turkey’s appreciation for Egypt’s pivotal role in supporting the Palestinian cause, Dr. Aslan was accompanied by members of the Turkish “Mahmoud Hadai” Charitable Endowment affiliated with the United Nations, in order to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between the two sides to contribute to alleviating the burden and providing humanitarian and educational support. The delegation looked forward to signing a cooperation protocol between the two sides to support Palestinian students studying at the university in order to provide them with an appropriate educational and psychological climate, which will begin with paying tuition fees and accommodation fees on a periodic basis, as well as providing support to those who lost their families.
For his part, Prof. Dr. Khaled Al-Dirandali praised the fraternal relations between Egypt and Turkey, wishing them further development and prosperity, and that the visit of the educational advisor to Zagazig University would contribute to consolidating fruitful educational and cultural cooperation relations between the two countries in a way that achieves all our ambitions and interests, stressing the university’s keenness to support various aspects of cooperation at all levels of scientific, social research fields. He also pointed out to the importance of joint cooperation to exchange experiences between the two sides, and student and academic exchange.
At the conclusion of the visit, Dr. Aslan touched on a number of files that would develop cultural relations between Egyptian and Turkish universities, which are being developed in all Egyptian universities, as well as supporting expertise. He thanked the university president for the warm welcome and reception, stressing the repetition of the visit and the continuation of cooperation between them.
The two sides also discussed how to exchange scientific and academic experiences and make the most of the fields of scientific research, wishing the university and its members further progress and prosperity.
At the end of the visit, Dr. Khaled Al-Dirandali presented a memorial shield to the Turkish delegation in appreciation of their educational, cultural, societal and humanitarian efforts. The Turkish delegation also presented the university president with a booklet bearing decorations of distinguished and ancient Turkish Islamic monuments as an expression of their love and appreciation.
