King Abdulaziz University won the “Al-Zeer and Project International” Award for the third time in a row, amid the participation of 523 candidates representing 97 countries.

Yesterday, the university’s initiative, “We Hear You, the Qualification Year for the Deaf,” won the award at the United Nations headquarters in Vienna, the Austrian capital, which is presented annually to innovative projects and initiatives that seek to empower people with disabilities around the world. It was received by the head of the university delegation, Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Muhannad bin Ghazi Abed.

The university’s receipt of the award for the third time is an indication of the university’s preservation of its gains, especially with regard to the segment of university students with disabilities, and its continued efforts to develop the services provided to them and pay attention to their international celebrations and events.

It is worth noting that the university includes 30% of students with disabilities, and it ranked second among the world’s universities in achieving the tenth goal of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, “Eliminating disparities among students.”
