The Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Arab Republic of Egypt organized sports activities for its members to celebrate Bahrain Sports Day.
On this occasion, Ambassador Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Arab Republic of Egypt and Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, praised the interest shown by the leadership of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, in sports activity, and the high directives of His Majesty in supporting sports. Bahraini women and athletes, and the ambitious endeavor to raise the flag of Bahrain high in international forums, in addition to interest in integrating individuals into Bahraini society and devoting their energies to various sporting and social activities.
Ambassador Zainal expressed her gratitude for the great role played by Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and for the follow-up of the Bahrain Olympic Committee led by Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman. The General Sports Authority, to instill the value of sport and promote it as a healthy culture among all the people of the Kingdom.
Zainal stressed that celebrating Sports Day aims to achieve sports, health and social goals, enhances the concept of sports for all, and achieves awareness of the importance of sports and its role in the life of the individual and society, noting that dedicating a day to practicing sports activity reflects the Kingdom of Bahrain’s concern for the health and safety of the citizen, and translating awareness directives into activities and practices. A movement that enhances knowledge of its importance in the lives of individuals and society and for the prevention of diseases, and an opportunity to renew activity and spread the spirit of participation at all levels.
The Ambassador and all the embassy’s members, including diplomats and employees, extended their deep thanks and appreciation for this initiative and the activities it includes that reflect the Kingdom of Bahrain’s support and interest in sports activity, health and physical safety, as well as enhancing familiarity, interconnectedness and brotherhood.
Embassy diplomats, employees, and members of the cultural and military attachés in Cairo participated in the Sports Day activities and events through a series of various sports programs and events.
