“Talking about providing humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, Palestine, in exchange for genocide is completely unacceptable. What the most important is to stop the Israeli killing machine first, and then provide all medical, food, shelter, and other aids.” Thus, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Mohamed Al-Orabi, currently head of the Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs, expressed his deep regret over what is happening in Gaza. This came in participation of a dialogue meeting on “the future of the Turkish-Egyptian relations” organized by the Presidency of the Public Diplomacy Department in the Turkish Presidency on Background of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s visit to Egypt.
The meeting was presented by the Turkish Ambassador, Mr. Salih Mutlu, Egyptian and Turkish politicians, media figures, academics, and intellectuals participated in a Cairo hotel..
Minister Al-Orabi also pointed out the importance of the Egyptian-Turkish rapprochement in the light of the stormy events running, whether over the borders or for life in the Middle East in particular and the rest of the world in general. This requires the Egyptian-Turkish unity to serve as a balance for the region, rather than resolving the outstanding issues in Libya and Gaza.
Minister Al-Orabi added, “There is no doubt that the Turkish President’s current visit to Egypt represents a very positive turning point, embodying the historical relations between the two countries and the Arab world as well, politically, economically, culturally, and socially, based on the hopes of the Egyptian and Turkish peoples.”
